Healing, expression, and connection through music
Our music therapy program uses the power of rhythm, melody, and song to support emotional wellbeing, communication, and personal growth for youth and adults with disabilities.
What Is Music Therapy?
Music therapy is an evidence-based practice in which a trained therapist uses music intentionally to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs. At Hearts of Love, our music therapy sessions are tailored to each individual — meeting them where they are and helping them grow in ways that feel joyful and natural.
- Led by trained music therapy practitioners
- Individualized sessions based on each participant's goals
- Supports communication, emotional regulation, and social skills
- Available as part of our Day Program and as a standalone service
"Music reaches where words cannot."
Evidence-based therapy for emotional, social, and cognitive growth.
How Music Therapy Helps
Music reaches parts of the brain that other therapies sometimes can't. For individuals with disabilities, the benefits can be profound and lasting.
Emotional Regulation
Music provides a safe, structured outlet for processing and expressing emotions — reducing anxiety and building calm.
Communication & Language
Singing, rhythm, and call-and-response activities support verbal and non-verbal communication development.
Social Connection
Group music sessions build turn-taking, listening, and cooperation — the foundations of meaningful relationships.
Cognitive Engagement
Learning songs, patterns, and rhythms stimulates memory, attention, and problem-solving in an enjoyable way.
Motor Skills
Playing instruments and moving to music supports fine and gross motor development in a fun, motivating context.
Confidence & Joy
Every session is a chance to succeed, be heard, and feel proud — building self-esteem one note at a time.
